random thought of the day...
Both of my rediscovered obsessions (Robert Downey Jr. and Eddie Izzard) have played Charlie Chaplin on film, what are the odds?

Speaking of which... Eddie was at his random best tonight! The show felt totally different than Fridays since he kept forgetting bits and riffing on other things. The seats were pretty close and [info]buildingupsteam got some great shots so I'll post pics when I get them. My two favorite shots were Eddie doing the giraffe and the hashashin, two highlights of the show! I also recorded the show and despite the fact that the settings were slightly off (apparently my brother forgot to raise the volume) and I set the mike up in the wrong direction (another thing my brother forgot to mention) you can still hear him over our demonic giggling.

Eddie Izzard is a rock god! I saw him last night at Radio City Music Hall and he brought the house down as usual. He was fantastic and looked absolutely delish... can you tell I have a slight crush? Can you blame me, my man really knows how to rock the tails! Anyway, thanks to the lovely [info]diamondustshoe for allowing me to use her pic, we weren't close enough to get a good shot last night. I'm hoping [info]buildingupsteam and I will have better luck tomorrow night, she scoped out our seats (lucky girl got to see all the shows) and it appears we'll be a lot closer.

merch!

As you can see I went a little crazy with the merchandise, I always do with Eddie. I'm not even done yet... still need to get the dogtags and keychain tomorrow night ;-) Yes, I'm a total dork.

Obsessed Much?
Okay, the Robert Downey Jr. love is still in full swing! Saw Iron Man again today and I must say it definitely holds up very well to repeat viewings, it was still fantastic fun! Totally loved the Pepperony UST even more this time around... I guess spending your entire day off reading fanfic about said couple probably didn't help my obsession.

It's nice to rediscover an old love like this, it actually tends to happen with all of his comebacks. The last time I was this bad concerning RDJ was when he joined Ally McBeal although I became slightly obsessed again after seeing KKBB a couple of years back.

Anyway... I leave you with this lovely gem that I'd totally forgotten, thanks for reminding me of it [info]buildingupsteam!

I'm bored silly
Snagged from [info]meganbmoore ...

You scored 29% = Tragic, 75% = Comic, 40% = Romantic, 25% = Historic

You Scored Much Ado About Nothing! First published in 1600, Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare's most enduring comedies, and probably his most performed to this day. Much Ado About Nothing tells the story of two pairs of would-be lovers and the hysterical events that happen surrounding the wedding. As Claudio and Hero prepare to marry, Don Pedro and his friends, bored with the length of preparation time, take it upon themselves in the meantime to play matchmaker to Benedick and Beatrice, two sharp-tongued would-be lovers whose love for each other is masked by the "merry war of words" in which they are engaged that both of them are too stubborn to lose. Based on your results, we believe you to be a quick-witted, light-hearted romantic who is probably very charming and charismatic. While your stubbornness may sometimes get the better of you, we are confident that you always eventually come to your senses and do what's best. You probably have a lot of friends and we like you too!

Iron Man? That's kinda catchy.
Let the summer of Downey begin! Iron Man was FANTASTIC!!! Not to be missed people, by far my favorite superhero movie in forever!

The whole cast is superb (bald Jeff Bridges is creepy and I even loved Gwinnie as Tony's girl friday Pepper, they had real chemistry which was a nice surprise!) but Robert Downey Jr. really owns it. I love that Favreu resisted the urge to go all dark and brooding, RDJ manages to bring his cocksure hyperkinetic charm to the role and I can't imagine the movie being half as much fun with anybody else. I loved the lack of gloomy angst, all the genuine laughs throughout and never has the exposition in an action flick been as fun and zippy as here. Oh yeah, the actual Iron Man looks fantastic and luckily the rest of the film is just as great. The only thing I'm pissed about is that I didn't stay through the credits, apparently there's one of those hidden scenes... I guess I'll just have to go see it again ;-)

Now I'm off to find me some Iron Man icons and I'll probably watch Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, I think I need more RDJ :-D

The Summer Movie Extravaganza is about to begin!
I've just seen two good movies in a row (Priceless and Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and I find myself totally excited about the upcoming summer flicks . Now granted, a lot of crap gets released during the summer, especially in the dismal month of August, but I do love the mindless fun of the summer movie season! While some of the previews I've seen look absolutely horrid (can somebody please stop Mike Myers and Will Ferrell already?) there is still quite a lot of fun stuff to look forward to...

05.02 Iron Man  Cocky Robert Downey Jr. in an iron suit with shit exploding? I'm so there... I'll even put up with Gwinnie!
05.02 Mister Lonely  This looks rather interesting and bizarre, I'll either love it or absolutely loathe it.
05.02 Redbelt  A martial arts film from David Mamet with Tim Allen? Strange but true. I'm all about Chiwetel though, love him!
05.09 The Fall  This film looks absolutely stunning plus I get Lee Pace and Justine Waddell... perfect!
05.09 A Previous Engagement  Juliet Stevenson in a romantic comedy, how cool is that? Bonus points for S.Woods and V.Mahaffey.
05.09 Speed Racer  This didn't really appeal to me at first but it is nice eye candy... lots of pretty colors!
05.22 Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull  I'm an Indy fan for life but I'm all about the return of Marion!
05.30 Sex and the City  I miss the girls terribly so I'll watch even if it turns out to be crap.
06.20 Get Smart  All the good bits are probably in the trailer but I do love Steve Carrell so I'll watch anyway.
06.27 Wanted  Yes, it looks like The Matrix only stupider but it has Angie kicking ass and the lovely James McAvoy so I don't care.
06.27 Wall-E  Cars may have been a bit boring but Pixar has yet to truly disappoint so I look forward to seeing it.
07.02 Hancock  I'm sick of Will Smith but the trailer for this isn't half bad and it features Jason Bateman so I'm totally seeing it.
07.11 Hellboy ii: The Golden Army  I was happily surprised by the first one so I'm looking forward to this one.
07.18 The Dark Knight  This looks better than the last one and there's no Katie to suck up the movie... yay!
07.18 Mamma Mia!  Meryl Streep sings Abba... 'nuff said.
07.25 The X-Files: I Want to Believe  Scully and Mulder are back... squee!!!
07.25 American Teen  This looks like it could be interesting.
07.25 Brideshead Revisited  It's been ages since I've seen Emma Thompson... she's really the only reason I would bother.
08.01 Choke  A dark and disturbing comedy with a first-rate cast... could be very interesting.
08.01 The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor  I'll miss Rachel and it will most likely be crap yet I will probably watch.
08.01 The Rocker  I may watch this only because of Rainn Wilson and Will Arnett... we'll see how bad the trailer is first.
08.08 The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2  The first one was cute.
08.15 Tropic Thunder  Robert Downey Jr. had me laughing out loud when I saw the trailer, absolutely brilliant!
08.22 Hamlet 2  I just saw the trailer for this and it's just hysterically inappropriate in so many ways.
08.22 The House Bunny  I'm not above a silly makeover comedy and this looks like it could fit the bill.
08.29 Vicky Cristina Barcelona  I can usually do without Woody Allen but the cast is dreamy on this one... Bardem in particular.
08.29 Traitor  This looks like it could be interesting and it has a pretty good cast... love Don Cheadle and Neal McDonough.

Ed. I'll bold the movies that I see, movies that are striked through are ones I've decided to skip.

I also read a lot  more Bones fanfiction (TemperTemper in particular... thanks for the recommendation [info]ggjunkie33 !) and for some strange reason I've been reading a lot of Tin Man fanfic, DG/Cain fic specifically. This is strange because I've yet to actually watch most of the miniseries and have only caught bits and pieces... I'm chalking it up to my love of both Zoey Deschanel and Neal McDonough!

these are a few of my new favorite things...

So here are some of the latest things that have made me very happy...

Photobucket
OMG... I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! I actually purchased it on a whim after receiving an iTunes gift card from [info]kelly1142   (thanks again girl!) and I couldn't recommend it more highly. Here's the summmary from the official site...

When spies get fired, they don't get a letter from human resources.

They get BURNED...

The action/spy genre gets a refreshing update with USA Network's newest original series, Burn Notice. Jeffrey Donovan stars as Michael Westen, an international spy who suddenly finds himself blacklisted. Dumped in his hometown of Miami without money or resources, Michael struggles to put his life back together and find out why he's been burned. In the meantime, he uses his unique skills and training to help people in need ... mostly people who can't get help from the police.

It's an action-packed spy show with lots of laughs (007 meets The A-Team) and a first-rate cast that includes Jeffrey Donovan (the sardonic kick-ass hero), Gabrielle Anwar (the trigger-happy ex-girlfriend), Sharon Gless (the overbearing mother) and the inimitable Bruce Campbell (the smartass sidekick with a penchant for babes and beer.) Chuck is a good spy show, Burn Notice is an absolute blast!

Photobucket
I've kinda shared my love of Bones recently but it's totally worth repeating! I haven't finished season 1 yet but I'm already absolutely in love with the show. It wasn't love at first sight, it took me a few episodes to accept some of the silly things like Angela's computer thingie (which I still find kinda cheesy) but the cast really won me over. I haven't shipped a couple hardcore in quite some time but I just adore Booth/Brennan, David and Emily have a lovely playful chemistry that makes them a joy to watch. Can't wait to catch up with the rest of the seasons.

Photobucket
I saw Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day last week and absolutely loved it! It's a sweet romantic comedy (a total throwback to those old screwball comedies that I adore) which are few and far between. Amy Adams is a delight as she channels her inner Lombard circa My Man Godfrey but the heart of the film is Frances McDormand as Miss Pettigrew, it's such a pity we don't get to see this magnificent actress more often. There was a nice balance between the romantic intrigue sorrounding the flighty Delysia and the maturity of the budding romance between Guinevere and Joe.

Photobucket
Just checked out hulu and I absolutely love it! I think I'll be catching up with some of the shows I've been meaning to start watching (Chuck, Battlestar Gallactica and Psych,) watch some oldies but goodies (Benson, The Bob Newhart Show and a totally cheesy guilty pleasure, Hart to Hart) and watch some of my faves (30 Rock and Bones)!

I'm hoping some older stuff is released soon although it does appear that shows need to be out on DVD before they come out on hulu. I hope I'm wrong about that because I would love to see Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Shannon's DealBrooklyn Bridge again.

Photobucket
This may seem like an odd entry here but I can't tell you how many lipglosses I've had to suffer through until I found this one! It's called Buxom by Bare Escentuals and it's simply divine. I let the girl at Sephora pick it out for me since I've had no luck and it was a total winner. It's supposed to plump up your lips so it feels kinda refreshing when you put it on and it isn't overly gooey... faboo!

P.S. I apologize for the lack of lj-cut but we don't seem to be getting along today :-(

Shoes, shoes, shoes!
Everywhere I look are shoeboxes... went just a tad bit crazy with the credit card this weekend. I'm afraid that nearly $300 in shoes in two days is entirely too much... some of these will have to go back. On the upside I spent the day with the girls at the mall and we had a very nice time catching up.

Anyway, totally feeling like crap thanks to the change in time... how can it possibly be 2 o'clock already, it feels like I just got up! I was planning to clean my room but I'm too tired and there are just too many shoes... I have nowhere to put all of these shoes!

When in doubt have a snack and watch some Bones... toodles everyone!

In addition to this I read quite a lot of Bones fanfiction as I've now become thoroughly addicted and am a devout BoothBrennan shipper (and I'm only up to "Two Bodies in the Lab")! It's been ages since I've done the fanfic thing but the UST between these two just calls for it. Unfortunately it can be hit or miss finding quality fanfic but the Bones fandom seems to have quite a few good writers in it, Lerdo in particular. I'd welcome any recommendations from my fellow Bones fans out there.

monkey, monkey, monkey... you!
Eddie is gigging once more and [info]buildingupsteam and I got to sit in the front row of last nights New York show! He's currently touring and just working on material so it's all pretty casual. He went off in even more tangents than he's usually prone to which is always great fun to behold but the show is shaping up nicely. There are still no clips to be found of the New York shows but here's one from a few months ago at The Coronet...

P.S. I will admit to having a crush on my favorite "action transvestite" but he was looking particularly good last night sans make-up and drag ;-D
